These may not seem like simple joys, however I have found that accomplishing ideas that I have set out to do bring me joy and motivation to keep improving. For example running a five and a half minute mile may not have any joy associated with it but at the end hopefully I will feel a sense of accomplishment.
Athletic/Physical Goals
- Run a five and a half minute mile
- Weigh 190 lbs
Run the Cedar City Half Marathon (Sept 14th 2013 in 1hr 45 minutes) - Run the St. George Marathon
- Run the St George Marathon in under 4 hours
- Row 500 meters in 1 minute and 26 seconds
- Hike the Subway in Zions National Park
- Complete a Triathlon
- Go on a 100 mile bike ride
- Swim in the Utah Summer Games
- Run in the Utah Summer Games
- Hike Rim to Rim at the Grand Canyon
- Get up before 6 a.m. for one year
Cultural/Creative Goals
Write in my journal every day for a year (Just finished on Dec. 10th 2013 I can't believe I did it. I took it with me while camping traveling etc. The amazing thing is that I want to keep going now.)- Read the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, New and Old Testament in a year
- 100% Home teaching for a year
- Learn to play 5 hymns on the piano I almost have 2

Miscellaneous Goals
Own a home (Feb 2012)Sail or Boat on the ocean we went on a cruise and a yacht race in September 2015- Not only plant but use our garden
Submit 50 family names to the temple I have submitted about 150- Develop a Web Page
- Own a small farm (some would say I already have this with all the chickens we have)
- Have really good seats at a Jazz game when they are good again
- Catch a fish over 10 lbs
- Own Property big enough to raise cows
- Write 100 letters (we don't send letters any more. There is just something special about opening you mail box to find a letter)
Travel/Experiences
- A week long backpacking trip in Colorado
- See Maine in the Fall
- See every temple in the United States
- Take the kids to Disneyland
- Go on a cruise
- Return to Brazil
- Drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean
- See Alaska
- Go to the Grand Canyon
- Go to Navoo and see all the Church History sites
- Go to Hawaii
Career/Educational Goals
- Own my own Business
- Own my own business and be able to live off of it
- Own a rental home
- Get an MBA or a Finance Degree
Family Oriented Goals
- Have a 1 year supply of food storage for my family
- Go on a date with Lou Anne at least 2 times a month for a year
